Katyń Memorial on 9-11
The Katyn Memorial stands in a walkway that leads to the waterfront. Dedicated to the Polish officer corps that was murdered by the Russian NKVD during the Second World War, this statue has been re-dedicated to the memory of those murdered in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, just across the Hudson River in Manhattan.

Ironic that the Katyn memorial statue should appear between the Twin Towers in this photo given the historical fact that the battle for Vienna against the Turks began on another September 11 in 1683 opposed by the European forces under the command of Polish-Lithuanian King Jan Sobieski, That decisive victory at the gates of Vienna thwarted the Muslim invasion of Europe.

15 września 2013 pod Pomnikiem Katyńskim stojącym na Exchange Place w Jersey City, NJ odbyły się obchody upamiętniające tragedię w Katyniu, zorganizowane przez Komitet Pamięci Zbrodni Katyńskiej, Stowarzyszenie Weteranów Armii Polskiej oraz Kongres Polonii Amerykańskiej na stan New Jersey. Jak co roku na uroczystosci przy pomniku zostało zaproszone polskie harcerstwo. Jednostki harcerskie z Clark, NJ, z Clifton, NJ i z Brooklynu wzięły udział w warcie honorowej oraz składały kwiaty wraz z innymi organizacjami. Dzieci z Polskiej Szkoły im. Józefa Piłsudskiego w Jersey City przygotowały okolicznościowy program artystyczny. Pomnik Katyński stoi w ciekawym miejscu – nad rzeką Hadson z pięknym widokiem na dolny Manhattan w Nowym Jorku. Monument istnieje już ponad 20 lat i jest dziełem Andrzeja Pityńskiego z Johnson Artelier, Princeton, N.J., który trównież wykonał pomnik Katyński w Baltimore, Md.
