Chicago : Alinea, L20 snag 3 stars from Michelin Guide


(Crain's) — Alinea and L2O landed coveted three-star ratings in the inaugural Michelin Guide for Chicago restaurants.

Roughly 350 restaurants snagged a mention in the iconic publication, considered by some to be the authority on dining. The guide goes on sale Thursday.
Jean-Luc Naret, director of the Michelin Guides, said he was "very impressed by the level of quality" at Chicago restaurants, whether it is fine dining, a burger joint or a taqueria.
"You have a wide choice of type of cuisine," he said.

Three stars
The following restaurants earned three stars for having exceptional cuisine and being worth the visit:
  • Alinea
  • L2O
Two stars:
  • Avenues at the Peninsula Hotel
  • Charlie Trotter's
  • Ria at the Elysian Hotel
One star:
  • Blackbird

  • Crofton on Wells
