- Update 2/1/15: My sister did receive her First Progress secured credit card and is very happy with it. Her credit score is increasing. BTW, the emails she received and that I listed below -- these were definitely scams and not sent by the issuer of First Progress cards. We still do not know who sent them......
- Please see also: "Better Tomorrow" - is this scam?
My sister is a freshman in college and wants to establish credit history. She looked at different secured cards, and found "First Progress" on creditkarma.com. She filled the application, provided all her personal information, including social security number. She did not send in the deposit, however.
Since then, she's been flooded with all kinds of email messages from this company letting her know she has credit cards from AMEx, Capital One, etc. This surely looks like a scam and she's worried that these people will use her personal info for worse things. She tried to unsubscribe and reported these emails as scam, but they keep coming, about 3-4 per day.
Has anyone else had any experience with "First Progress"? Please help!!
This is the original screen from Credit Karma where she found "First Progress".
This is a screenshot of her inbox with some of the email messages.
These messages are signed as

- Progress Card | 2525 East Paris SE | Suite 100 | Grand Rapids | MI | 49546
And here are 4 of the hundreds of emails she received.

Why is creditkarma.com advertising these people on their website?
